As stated in an earlier Washington Times article (May 8th, 2009), President Obama has targeted the Department of Defense to absorb more than 80 percent of the cuts he has proposed in next year’s budget. In its "Terminations, Reductions and Savings" booklet, which the administration released Thursday, the White House highlighted the results of the president's line-by-line scrubbing of the federal budget.
In order to prepare for these cuts, the 101st Airborne Division has started to reduced combat readiness groups. One of the first cuts was the deactivation of Company E /2nd Battalion/506th Parachute Infantry Regiment/101st Airborne Division. Some soldiers have retired, while others have moved to other realism units.
Many of the soldiers who have retired, did not want to give up on the Global War on Terrorism and started a new company. This company continues the war on terrorism working with the Army (America’s Army 2.8.5, America’s Army 3, & Call of Duty), the Navy (Navyfield), & the Marines (Operation Flash Point). This company is called Blackwater Gaming Operations.
